The Web Workshop's Portfolio
Information
The Gyle Shopping Centre, Edinburgh
Edinburgh's premier shopping centre use their website to promote forthcoming events, special offers and their location, as well as advertising Centre vacancies and using it as a tool to attract exhibitors for product promotions. Using our Content Control Centre, Gyle can update their Special Offers, Vacancies and Press Offices pages themselves with no web design experience required.
Trefoil Guild UK
Traditionally, The Trefoil Guild has had an older audience, but for their revamped site they wanted something that would appeal to younger people, too.
The Scottish School of Colonic Hydrotherapy
Providing residential training for students wishing to become colonic hydrotherapists, Brian and Anne-Lise Miller were looking for a simple layout that reflected their values.
Property & Building
Cullen Kilshaw
Borders-based estate agents Cullen Kilshaw wanted to update the look of their site, and make it easier for people in the property market to get around it. Powered by Property Manager (get in touch for more details), staff in all of CK's offices can update details of property online.
Scotland's Property Guide
Techno Data Solutions were so impressed with the quality of pages produced for Cullen Kilshaw, when they launched their own national magazine and website they came back to The Web Workshop to work together again.
Oregon Timber Frame
For a number of years, Oregon's web presence consisted of a single page with contact details. They liked the ideas I put to them, and within a couple of months their new site was live.
Gordon Euman Home Improvements
Gordon had a lot of information to display about his wide range of home improvement products: conservatories, windows, etc. In this site, I tried to get across the building/design aspect of his business.
eCommerce & Catalogues
HB Longbone & Son of Berwick
A long-established business in Berwick-Upon-Tweed, HB Longbone knew that a web presence was essential for them, if they were to keep up with the competition. They were impressed by the range of features offered by our e-commerce software-of-choice, and the flexibility it gave them with their pricing structures.
Swans Shoes
As well as a growing number of branches, Swans Shoes wanted to be selling more of their products online. The owner, Trevor Swan, got in touch to see if I could help him out. The free ecommerce software I use was ideal for his purposes giving him the ability to add and remove products instantly from his site. To bring in more targeted customers we're running a Google Adwords campaign with a click-through rate of between 15% and 20%!
"What has the Web Workshop has done for our business? First of all, osCommerce is very user friendly, for all our staff and for me to be able to upload new products as they come available. Our stock position changes every week we wnted to be able to update the site ourselves. The training and ongoing training is first class. When we go on holiday we know the girls can make one phone call and any issues are solved. Andrew is not the first web designer we've used - we havehad our fair share of bad experiences to compare with. The service is first class. It has taken our Web presence to a different level. Thanks, Andrew." - Trevor Swan
White of Hawick
Bill Atkins at White of Hawick decided that it was time to revamp his web presence, so he came to me for some ideas. He was delighted with what I had to offer, so if you're after quality lambswool and cashmere knitwear look no further.
"When I wanted to take the online version of my highly successful mail order catalogue to the next level I called in Andrew and The Web Workshop to see what he could do.
I liked his ideas, his enthusiasm, and his commitment. Andrew liaised closely with me to get the new site just how I wanted, and injected many innovative ideas.
Nothing seems too much trouble - all my questions and requests are answered and actioned very quickly - usually right before my eyes.
Feedback from my customers has been very positive, especially the facility to easily keep them updated as to the progress of their order via email.
My online sales have increased significantly, as well as requests for brochures to be posted.
Here's to the future!"- Bill Atkins, Managing Director, White of Hawick, Ltd
River Trading
This was an interesting project. River Trading raises funds and donations which are stewarded by the trustees of Harnham Buddhist Monastery. This is actually two sites in one: the first is a few pages about River Trading and their work, with the second being an ecommerce site.

Forrest Of Kelso - In Development
Trevor Black at Forrest of Kelso is just a couple of doors along the road from another Trevor - Trevor Swan at Swans Shoes (above). After many months of seeing Victoria from Swans going past his door on her way to the Post Office with her wagon full of parcels, he decided to ask who created his website. Trevor (Black) is now getting his online catalogue ready for the big launch. Watch this space!
Voiceovers
Dian Perry
"I love my site! Andrew was an absolute pleasure to work with and extremely patient with those last minute tweaks that always occur when creating an important piece of marketing. I loved his ideas and he knew just what would work for my individual style and business. I would trust him with any website I wanted to have done. He's very knowledgable and he knows his stuff. Andrew explained things in terms that suited my level of understanding." - Dian Perry
Richard Greenwood
"When looking to set up a website for my expanding ISDN voice-over business I turned to Andrew and The Web Workshop. I was impressed by his wide knowledge in this field, and moreover by his professionalism and approachability. Always open to ideas, he creates a very clear and uncluttered website design, that is easy to navigate and looks good too. The 'after sales' backup has been extremely helpful, and he's always ready to come up with new ideas to reach as wide a web 'audience' as possible. If you are thinking of a website for your company, large or small, my advice would be... use him!!" - Richard Greenwood
David Holt
When David called asking if I would help him out with his new website, I jumped at the chance. Having two young boys at home the kids TV channels are neatly always on, and practically any time you switch to Nick Jr or Cbeebies, you'll hear David's voice in one form or another. Engie Bengy, Fetch The Vet, Maggie & The Ferocious Beast, Gordon The Garden Gnome, and many more besides have benefitted from his vocal talents. Drop by his site for more.
Marian Kemmer
Do you remember the Fybogel TV commercial before they changed the name to Senokot? The pregnant daughter comes in to find Dad fixing his huge model plane on the kitchen table, and Mum downing some liquid? "It's alright, dear. It's for my constipation," she tells her. Mmmmm, nice. Well, yes..Marian is the Fybogel Mum! See and hear what else she's done. - The Lollipop Lady sample is my favourite!
"The Web Workshop, who are a pleasure to deal with, created an attractive, cool, easy to use website for me which has been a great investment. Help, updates and changes are delivered in an extremely efficient, professional andfriendly way." - Marian Kemmer
Hospitality
The Buccleuch Arms Hotel
Billy Hamilton, owner of the Buccleuch Arms Hotel in the Scottish Borders, wanted a way to keep his website up to date quickly and easily. Together with a brand new website, we developed a bespoke Content Management System for Billy and his staff that will help him run effective newsletter campaigns as well. Our graphic design partners have given "The Buccleuch" a general facelift, as well.

Vogrie Equestrian
Now, there would have been big trouble if Vogrie Equestrian hadn't come to me to get their website created as it's owned by my sister! "Keep it simple and stylish", she said. "We'd like a way to display a lot of pictures without it looking cluttered." No problem. From the feedback she's had, it's done the job admirably. Look out for new developments soon.
