How To Market Your Website with The Web Workshop
Right, we've got your new website ready, and it looks lovely. You're really chuffed with it, all your friends and family tell you how good it looks, so you sit back and wait for the visitors to come flooding in, don't you?
Er no. Getting your website up and running could be described as being Stage 1; getting people in is Stage 2. How can we do that, though?
Well, let's start with the basics first, and make sure that your site is picked up by the major search engines like Google.
We also need to make sure that the content on each page of your website not only reads well to people browsing, but also contains relevant information or "keywords" that they might use to search for a site like yours.
Having good quality sites linking back to yours can help to improve your search engine rankings, and this is something that we can help and advise on.
Now, don't expect your website to be listed on the likes of Google for at least a few weeks after it goes live. It can take up to a couple of months to be picked up.
One of the most effective ways to get listed almost straight away is to start a Google Adwords campaign. Adwords are the "Sponsored Links" that appear along the top and down the right hand side of a results page as outlined in red here.
We can help you set up and run a successful Adwords campaign. If you fancy giving it a go yourself, my colleague Perry Marshall has written a very helpful e-course called "5 days to success with Google AdWords" and there's no charge for it. You can find out about it here.
One of the most effective ways to keep people coming back to your website is to send out regular newsletters. I have a great bit of software that takes the hard work out of running a successful newsletter. With Constant Contact you can create subscription mailing lists, newsletters and autoresponders quickly and easily. Take a look at the Newsletter Software page for more.

If you sell any kind of complex service, technology or sophisticated product, a White Paper is the best way to educate your customers about that technology.
You can use a white paper to build your credibility, get free exposure in the press, attract new customers, and drive new technology into change-resistant, conservative markets.
Most white papers are either too technical (boring) or too commercial (thin and cheesy) - but Perry Marshall has written a guide that shows you how to strike the perfect balance.
But what's most important of all, though, is promoting and publicising your white paper - because the best white paper in the world is no good unless somebody reads it!
